The e-Tambayan Project for SME
Tambayan is a 'tagalog word' for a designated place to wait. It is from here information are shared, opinions are made, destinations are set, plan of actions are decided, products are pedlled, and where everyone moves to the next step or place

The sme:e-tambayan is the virtual space where the owners and support people from the small and medium enterprises converge inside the Internet to build understanding, to start collaboration, to gain access, and to enjoy selling though the SME:Vstores.
This is a free and open virtual address to spend time on small and medium enterprise guidance and initiatives. It is where SME owners and support people find the resource links of "software" and "talks" to improve the business performance of small and medium enterprises.
This knowledge motivated space believes in best practice - "not to re-invent the wheel". It searches, reviews, and posts re-usable and open content from the web that are applicable to the knowledge- theme that SME-Philippines may be interested to know.
The SME users are given the site links to the content sources. It is up for them to build meanings on the information, that will eventually bring decisions and actions.
It also where the participants of SME Capability Building Projects are encourage towards self-directed learning and community based collaboration.
The SME users can share their derivative content and experiences through the tambayansme forum or through the tambayansme blog.
The SME:e-Tambayan Project includes training engagement that introduces a practitioner's e-service framework on how to make information and communications technology realize for the SME its strategic business goals.
It provides guidance on the planning processes and the available technology that are free, shareable, modifiable, enterprise grade and open standard to allow the jumpstarting of technology integration in the business of SME.
e-Services Framework for Small and Medium Enterprise v.1.0
This is a five (5) days training program for SME owners and
support
people on how to make ICT serves the strategic and operational
requirements of the business. This training program is implemented
through selected GO and NGO with SME Development AdvocacyThe concept presentation and solution demo assist the SME to build an understanding, to assess situation and needs, to define the roadmap, to fill up the template, and to select and use the tools necessary for the proper integration of ICT in the business to become effective and efficient in delivering the desired goals.
The following are the knowledge themes of the training
- SME e-Services Planning
- SME e-Services Architecture
- SME e-Services Solutions
- SME e-Service Performance Levels Metrics
- SME e-Services Support and Continuity.
The participants are expected to:
- Recognize the need for integrative
approaches in enabling the small and medium enterprise achieve its
strategic directives through the use of information and communications
technology.
- Define the application
framework and identify the supporting technologies aligned to the
requirement of business.
- Develop the strategic ICT
integration roadmap to guide the investment framework, and establish well
the value proposition of information and communications technology to the
business.
- Show the ability to use basic
business tools and set-up the business on-line presence in the Internet.
- Understand the components of
managing ICT projects, and to define the requirements of integrating
information technology in the business processes.
- Write an ICT Strategic
Integration Plan of the business
- Create a virtual store or
virtual office in the Internet
